Protects distribution transformers, cable terminations and line equipment against lightning and switching overvoltages. Designed to TEDAŞ-MLZ/96-019.B with a gapless ZnO block column, HTV silicone housing and ground disconnector.

STRUCTURE

Five components, one job: diverting overvoltage to earth

Top terminal and bird cap

Line terminal; the cap prevents phase-to-earth faults caused by birds and small animals.

HTV silicone rubber housing

Meets pollution level IV with ≥ 31 mm/kV creepage; hydrophobic, UV and ozone resistant.

Metal-oxide (ZnO) block column

Gapless series block stack. Block manufacturer, origin, count and dimensions are declared in the guaranteed particulars.

Ground disconnector

Disconnects the earth lead if the arrester fails; the network stays in service and the failed unit is visible.

Mounting bracket

Bracket for cross-arm or pole mounting; all steel fasteners are hot-dip galvanised.

Complete, on the design to be delivered

Type tests per TEDAŞ-MLZ/96-019.B Table 9 and TS EN 60099-4 are performed on samples identical to the delivered design (same block count, length, creepage and insulation level) in a TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.

SELECTION NOTE

The right ratings for 34.5 kV networks

Ur 36 kV and Uc ≥ 28.8 kV are selected to suit both resistance-earthed and solidly earthed systems. The lightning impulse residual voltage at 10 kA stays within TEDAŞ Table 8.b limits, well below the 170 kV peak insulation level of the protected equipment.
